Historic Heritage
Originally developed in 1928 and known as the Clara Barkdull Building, this property reflects an early chapter of Medford’s downtown growth. Commissioned by Clara Barkdull, a local landowner whose presence dates back to the late 1800s, the building replaced one of the city’s earliest dwellings to make way for a new era of development.
At the time, it was introduced as a “new modern” structure on North Central, signaling progress and investment in the downtown core.
Nearly a century later, Nexus Union continues that legacy. Rather than replacing what exists, this project restores relevance to a historic asset, preserving its identity while adapting it to serve the evolving needs of Medford today.
